There are good news for everybody in the youth work field, who has great ideas, but lacks funding: The EU youth programmes Erasmus+ Youth and European Solidarity Corps are key instruments at European level to support the European Youth Work Agenda (EYWA) and its implementation process called “Bonn Process”. Now, a new Practical Guide was developed by the cooperation project “SNAC Growing Youth Work” to support beneficiaries in linking their projects with the EYWA.
2025 will see the 4th European Youth Work Convention take place. The Conventions have been a feature of European Youth Work since 2010 happening every five years. They are probably the single most important event series in the youth work calendar. This 4th one will take place in Malta from the 27th to 30th May 2025. To learn about the developments of this important event, we interviewed Marvic Debono, head of the youth sector with the National Agency in Malta responsible for Erasmus+ Youth and European Solidarity Corps.
We met up with Jean-Marie Cullen and Janice McGarry to discover what is happening in youth work in Ireland and what the implementation of the European Youth Work Agenda looks like. From the 14th to 17th May 2024, the European Academy on Youth Work, third edition, took place in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia. The theme was ‘Future developments and their impact on youth work’. There were 200 participants representing a broad spectrum of the youth work community of practice, coming from a large portion of Europe and several neighbouring countries.
The conference “Value and Recognition of Youth Work” took place from 4 to 7 December 2023, in Zagreb, Croatia. The aim was to engage stakeholders from the community of practice in a professional debate on recognition. As a direct result of the conference, five pocket books were created, each diving deeper into a specific aspect of recognition, making these pocket books essential reading for anyone interested in the recognition of youth work!
The network “Generation Europe – the Academy” puts the Bonn Process into action with more than 40 organisations across Europe. We have talked with Lucia Andreatta about their latest symposium and the potential of dialogue between youth, youth work and politics.
