We had the pleasure to meet with Carola Meier and Aleksandra Vedernjak to talk about the national process taking place in Austria in connection with the European Youth Work Agenda. We talked about the current situation of youth work in Austria, the influence of the Agenda, and where they would like to see youth work in the future in Austria.

How can European youth work be secured in the long term? With the policy paper “Young Voices for Youth Work”, young people from 9 European countries demand systemic changes in European youth policy.

Caroline Reviriot was one of the participants at the “Exchange Forum on the European Youth Work Agenda” that took place from 1-4 December in Skopje. She is from an organisation in Luxembourg called WeCitizens, where she works as the Director of Programmes. This was Caroline’s first time at an Exchange Forum and she agreed to talk with us about her impressions of the two days. The Forum has become a key event in the Growing Youth Work SNAC calendar – this was the fourth event.

Do you wonder how the regional level can succeed in translating the European Youth Work Agenda and European resources into practical opportunities that make sense in local youth work? In this interview we explored the work of the regional competence centre “Association of Youth Leisure Centres Saxony”. We talked with Jessica Reinsch about her work with locally based youth organisations and youth workers, and the connections she is making with them to the European Youth Work Agenda.

During the “Exchange Forum on the European Youth Work Agenda” that took place from 1-4 December in Skopje, Frederike Hofmann-van de Poll presented the “State of Play of National Processes within the European Youth Work Agenda Implementation - Survey Report 2025”. At the end of the Exchange Forum, we chatted with Frederike about the report and were joined by Jules Heger from Austria and Åsa Gunvén from Sweden. Together we explored their impressions and reflections on the research findings.

From the very beginning, the Exchange Forum 2025 showed that it would provide a lively space for the youth work community of practice, both in terms of content and methodology. From open engagement stations and structured reflections to discussions in national working groups, the Forum offered opportunities to dive deeper.
